I really like how you take the main idea/progression here and make it progressively build up. Good stuff!

LexyFire responds:

thank you very much, im glad you enjoyed it <3

Sometimes you don't need all the added bells and whistles, just a drum track and a somber piano. Love this! The mood doesn't strike me as happy or sad, but more... contemplative I guess? I really like how some of the chords progress, especially the one around the 2:07 mark.

ChronoNomad responds:

Thanks for the review, shadow-ghost! Just keeping it simple, man. Keeping it real. If the music makes you think, then it's fulfilling its purpose on the grand stage.

I guess, all in all, it's really just about going your own way. Making your own choices and sticking by them, good or ill. Definitely not about being a follower. Hell, not even being a leader. Not really. Just keeping time and counsel with yourself, putting one foot in front of the other, and paving your own road in life. And if other folks decide they want to walk in your footsteps, well hey...that's just fine. So long as the decision is theirs. We all have to travel the same road, from time to time.

Stay contemplative.

Very cool! I love some of the stuff you did with this like the tempo slowing down and the creepy noises right at the beginning. Very spooky!

Jxudo responds:

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed! Really happy with how it turned out.

I definitely agree on what you said about the limited colours and stuff. It gives it a fun challenge and makes you have to plan the picture differently. :)

You should keep painting; I liked your submissions!

davidpuralocura responds:

i ll try some different programs
would you recommend any?

Really good composition! The sounds blend really well and it's got this nice atmosphere to it. Great work!

DjSkyFall responds:

Thanks you i appreciate it, i'm glad you liked it

I like the chiptune 8-bit sounds in the background. I'm not too sure about the voices in the background though... it sounds a little out of place.

Still, I think the actual music was interesting. A slight bit more energetic and sporadic than the music I usually listen to, but I still think you did a good job!

Synthapse responds:

Glad you thought it was interesting!

Mellow and soothing.

Good job. While the melancholic piano part stands pretty well on its own, I did like how the back-up instruments where introduced around 0:17. I think it would be even better if you expanded upon it, maybe reinforce the stringed instruments and bass in the background, make the track climax you know?

Keep up the good work.

BlazingDragon responds:

I think about expanding this every so often and sit at the piano to improvise on it. I'm just never satisfied with the result though lol. Maybe one day, though. Thanks! :)

Pretty damn good.

I really enjoyed that. Ever played the Penumbra games? This song reminds me heavily of the piano themes used in that series. I liked how you got a mood going while still keeping it fairly simple with just a piano track. Keep it up.

NegativeNine responds:

I haven't played them but I definitely know it! Glad to hear it reminds you of a game, that's quite a cool compliment in my books :) I was going to add strings but I couldn't find a suitable VST that wasn't too overpowering, I may revise the track to make it more interesting :)

Thanks for the review!

Niiice!

You know, it's always great to hear fellow musicians who actually know how to play their respective instruments well. And you certainly did. My piano skills are a bit rusty but I think you made good use of dynamics. Also, you managed to keep the rhythm going in a nice pace (lot of people forget that).

Now that I'm reviewing, I might as well ask: what keyboard are you using?

Good job!

DaPunishmentRejecter responds:

Thanks, I'm using the Yamaha YPG-535 keyboard

I kind of liked that, actually.

Cool passage. Maybe you could try expanding it into an actual song? Would be great to hear something playing along with it, or some other kind of melodic change to mix things up a bit.

It's when you do random things like speeding up or adding weird effects to your songs that all sorts of magic happens, right? ;)

Kool-Aid responds:

Haha thank you. Yeah i didn't mean it to be a song i just sped up the track and it sounded great haha.
